Best areas on the island

The island has 3 separate municipalities, each with a slightly different vibe:

  • Anna Maria (north end) Here you can rent by the night as opposed to weekly or monthly in Holme Beach
  • Quiet, residential, upscale, walkable and closest to Bean Point and shopping and restaurants on Pine Avenue.
  • Holmes Beach (middle) Most all except hotels (nightly) are minimum 7 night with check in on Saturday to check out on Sunday.
  • Most central, best mix of rentals + restaurants
  • Bradenton Beach (south end) Nightly rentals allowed
  • More walkable, near Bridge Street (bars, shops)

What you typically get

Most rentals include:

  • Private pool (very common)
  • Full kitchen + multiple bedrooms
  • Beach gear (chairs, carts, bikes sometimes)
  • Walkable or short ride to beach- or rent a golf cart!
  • Upscale properties include concierge service including housekeeping and grocery delivery.

This is why families and groups prefer rentals over hotels.

  • Staying ON the island avoids daily bridge traffic headaches
  • There’s a free trolley that runs the length of the island
